Thanksgiving

• God led newcomers and relatives to our midst.
• God led brothers and sisters to attend Chinese WBC101.
• Launching of the English worship service.

Supplication

• Outreach Ministry: May God grant us passion for lost souls and good witness in our lives. Pray that the seekers will continue to search for the truth. Pray also for the conversion of our family members and for the SIG ministry.
• Pray for the the English ministry. May He continue to lead us in serving Him in unity.
• Remember the development of the small groups and youth ministry.
• Remember Chinese WBC101 which begin soon. May the Lord continue to lead newcomers to attend.
• Christian Education: Pray that God will lead brothers and sisters to study His Word with consistency and give strength to the teachers.
• Music Ministry: Remember all those who serve in this ministry.
• Small Groups Ministry. Remember the leaders, pray for the group dynamics and the needs of each small group.
• Youth Ministry: May the Lord build up dLite (Cantonese youth ministry). Also remember the new GZone fellowship (English teens ministry). Pray that God will continue to bless our youth in getting to know Jesus and committing their lives to Him.

Announcements

• Westside Baptist Church would like to welcome all newcomers to our Worship Service. Please fill out the Guest Record Card and return it to the ushers or greeters so that we can keep in contact with you. Westside also invites Christians who attend our service regularly to consider Westside as their spiritual home. Please contact the pastoral staff or deacons if you are interested.
• Bulletins will not be printed for the English worship services, so church volunteers are asked to check their duties online via googledocs. A hard copy of the duty list will also be posted in the foyer. Please call the church office and speak with Roberta about any duty shift changes.
• All are welcome to enjoy a simple meal that will be served every week after the service at a cost of $5. To pre-purchase meal tickets, contact Joyce Lai or Shera Ng, or register through the English Ministry Facebook page. The deadline is Wednesday each week. Meal tickets purchased at the door will be $6 upon availability.
• The new GZone youth group for Grade 7-12 teens and youths will meet every Friday in Room G from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. Please contact Joyce Chan or Justin Chen for further information.
• Childcare is provided for children under 3 in Room C during the worship service.
• There will be small group gatherings every Saturday at 8pm after the community meal. Come and get connected with one another and learn about small group life through “Regroup”. All are welcome.
• Church prayer meetings are held every Saturday at 5:00pm in Room F. All are encouraged and welcome to attend.
• A storage locker (12’ x 12’) is currently available. The rent is $110 plus tax per month. Please call the office, if you are interested in renting the locker.

Summary of the May Deacon Board Meeting

• The City of Vancouver will rent the worship hall for a community open house on May 14 between 4pm – 9pm.
• The short-term mission team will be going to Romania in November this year for two weeks.
• A total of 189 guests attended the 20th anniversary banquet on May 6.
• A new version of the church website has been published. The website address remains as www.westsidebaptist.ca.

Summer Camp 2012

Sumer Camp will be held on August 4-6 at Delta Whistler Village Suites.  The theme this year will be "Light Among My People."  Online registration has begun.  See pamphlet (full camp) , pamphlet 2 (Sunday - Monday) for more details.  The registration booth is available for inquires and registration right after worship services on June 10 and June 17. Please be reminded to bring along a cheque on Sundays for registration.

Announcements

• WBC101 will begin soon. For those who would like to be baptised or transferred as a member to Westside and know more about God’s Word, please contact the pastoral staff.
• GZone English Fellowship for teens will launch on May 11 (Friday) at 7:30pm at Room G. All Grade 7-12 teens are welcome to join. For details please contact Justin Chen or Joyce Chan.
• English worship service will launch on May 12 (Saturday) at 6pm. All English speaking friends and families are welcomed to join. Light dinner will be served and small groups will be held right after worship service. $5 per dinner ticket. Please contact Shera Ng or Joyce Lai for ticket.
• Tiles will be layed at the foyer area from May 1 to May 5 (Tuesday to Saturday). Therefore, the church will not open for any event in the coming week except for the visitation team prayer meeting, church prayer meeting, dLite fellowship and English small group which will be held in Room G.

Special Events

• The church will hold the 20th anniversary banquet at Fortune House Seafood Restaurant on May 6 at 6pm. All who have purchased the tickets are welcomed to join the event.
• The "Spiritual Formation Retreat Camp" will be held on May 18-21 (Victoria Day weekend) for exercises and coaching on solitude, si-lence, prayer and other spiritual disciplines. This is a great opportunity to refresh your spirit amidst a hectic life. The retreat will be held in Rosemary Heights Retreat Centre in Surrey. All participants will be assigned to single rooms. The $295 fee per person in-cludes meals. We still have a few spaces left. For details please refer to the promotional pamphlet or contact Pastor Alan.
